Began his junior career with the Brandon Wheat Kings (1947-49) before signing with Toronto Marlboros.
Played one season with University of Toronto. Won a total of three Allan Cups over the years.
Between 1952 and his last season in 1959 he played with Kitchener-Waterloo Dutchmen, with one season in Whitby.
Played both as a defenseman and forward at the 1956 Olympics. Named best forward.
Known for his outstanding talent and physical durability. A big man in big games.
Very good stickhandler and elegant on the ice despite his imposing size. Smooth skater.
Scored 537 (274+263) points in 532 career games.
Became a high school teacher in Preston, ON, teaching physical education, math and English.
Name often misspelled as "MacKenzie".

Il a commencé sa carrière junior avec les Wheat Kings de Brandon (1947-49) avant de signer chez les Marlboros de Toronto.
Une saison à l'Université de Toronto. Trois coupes Allan de champion amateur du Canada.
Entre 1952 et sa dernière saison en 1959 il joua pour les Dutchmen de Kitchener-Waterloo, et une saison à Whitby.
Il jouait attaquant mais vit son tems de jeu augmenter en étant aussi aligné en défense à l'occasion des Jeux de 1956, où il fut nommé meilleur attaquant.
Connu pour son talent exceptionnel et son endurance physique, il était à son meilleur dans les grands matchs.
Très bon au maniement de la crosse et élegant sur la glace malgré sa taille imposante. Patineur fluide.
Auteur de 537 (274+263) points en 532 matchs dans sa carrière.
Devenu professeur en lycée à Preston (Ontario), enseignant l'éducation physique, les mathématiques et l'anglais.
Son nom est souvent écrit par erreur "MacKenzie".
