A rugged defenseman and a tough customer in his own zone.
He had great speed, was a clever stick handler and had a sizzling shot that was referred to as a "cannonball".
Great overall athlete who excelled in baseball, football and hockey during the 1920’s and the start of the 1930’s.
Won the league batting crown twice in Ontario baseball.
In football he was on the first Winnipeg team to play in the Grey Cup.
In hockey he won the 1928 Allan Cup as well as becoming the World Champion in 1931.
Later served as president of the Granite Curling Club 1957-58 and was an active member at the Niakwa Country Club.
Worked as a trading export controller after his playing career.

Défenseur rugueux, sérieux client dans sa propre zone.
Très rapide, malin dans le maniement de sa crosse, il possédait un tir qualifié de "boulet de canon".
Très bon athlète qui excellait au baseball, au football et au hockey durant les années 1920 et au début des années 1930.
Il a remporté deux titres de champion de l'Ontario en baseball.
Au football il était aligné dans la toute première équipe de Winnipeg à participer à la Coupe Grey.
En hockey il a remporté la coupe Allan de 1928 et les Mondiaux de 1931.
Plus tard il fut président du Granite Curling Club en 1957-58 et un membre actif du Niakwa Country Club.
Il travailla comme contrôleur des exports commerciaux après sa carrière de joueur.
