Brother-in-law of ex-NHL’er Rick Adduono. After a very good college career he won the IHL 1979 and 1980 (as playoff top scorer) with the Kalamazoo Wings but his small size (170 cm) kept him away from the NHL.
As a dual Canadian-Italian citizen he moved to Italy in 1980 and earned his Italian passport that same year.
He represented Italy 104 times, scoring 82 points (48+34).
After a game against the Soviet Union at the 1984 Winter Olympics, Milani and teammate Grant Goegan, plus two Soviet players were escorted into the doping room for a urine test. While the Soviet players were only allowed to drink water from their supervisor, Milani and Goegan were drinking Heineken beers that were available, having a good time.
He won back-to-back Italian league titles in 1986 (Merano) and 1987 (Varese). Retired in 1988.
Returned back home to his native Thunder Bay.

Beau-frère de l'ancien joueur de NHL Rick Adduono. Après une très belle carrière universitaire il a remporté l'IHL en 1979 et 1980 (en tant que meilleur marqueur des playoffs) avec es Wings de Kalamazoo mais sa petite taille (1m70) ne lui a pas permis de jouer en NHL.
Arrivé en Italie en 1980, il obtint aussitôt son passeport grâce à sa double nationalité italo-canadienne.
Joueur rapidement incontournable en équipe d'Italie avec 104 sélections et 82 points (48+34).
Après un match contre l'URSS lors des JO de 1984, Milani et son coéquipier Grant Goegan, ainsi que deux joueurs soviétiques ont été conduits au contrôle antidopage. Alors que les Soviétiques ne furent autorisés à boire que de l'eau par leur superviseur, Milani et Goegan ont bu les bières Heineken disponibles et ainsi passé un bon moment.
Il a remporté deux titres de champion d'Italie consécutifs en 1986 (Merano) et 1987 (Varese). Retraité en 1988.
Retourné dans sa ville de naissance de Thunder Bay.
