He and Bert Smith were two of the few native players in Fife when the team was full of Canadians.
It was a feat in itself to earn a spot on those teams back in the days.
Made his debut with Fife in 1946 and scored two goals in his first game (8-1 vs Falkirk).
In the early days he formed a line with imports Bob Lantz and John Drummond.

Bert Smith et lui étaient les deux seuls locaux de naissance à Fife alors que l'équipe était presque exclusivement canadienne.
Il était un exploit à l'époque de tenir une place dans cette équipe.
