His paternal grandparents were from Hessen in Germany and his maternal greatgrandparents were from Munich in Germany.
Graduated from St. Andrews College, an all-boys college in Ontario, before attending the University of Toronto, winning the 1927 Allan Cup.
Played only against Great Britain at the 1928 Olympic games.
Played several seasons with Toronto National Sea Fleas of the Ontario Hockey Association, winning another Allan Cup in 1932.
Retired in 1935. After his hockey career, he worked as an insurance writer, broker and lawyer.
Remained athletically active in golf and curling until his death from a heart attack in 1956.

Ses grand-parents paternels venaient du Land de Hesse en Allemagne et ses arrières-grands-parents maternels étaient de Munich.
Diplômé de St. Andrews College, une institution de garçons de l'Ontario, avant de rejoindre l'Université de Toronto, avec qui il a remporté la coupe Allan en 1927.
Il a joué uniquement contre la Grande-Bretagne lors des JO de 1928.
Il a passé quelques saisons avec les Toronto National Sea Fleas en Ontario Hockey Association, remportant une nouvelle coupe Allan en 1932.
Après sa retraite du hockey en 1935, il travailla comme agent d'assurance, courtier et avocat.
Resta sportivement actif dans le golf et le curling jusqu'à son décès d'une crise cardiaque en 1956.
