Born in Dorchester, Massachusetts and raised in Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts.
Was the fourth child of six and son of a Boston attorney. Studied at St.Sebastian’s School, graduating in 1946.
Played for Boston College, graduating in 1951 and then represented United States at the 1952 Olympics.
Hardworking rangy center who played with great intelligence on the ice.
Wanted to enlist in the army but the Olympics came in between.
Attended Suffolk University Law School, graduating in 1956.
Versatile athlete who aside from ice hockey also won titles in golf and tennis. Also played football and baseball.
Worked for the Boston and Maine Railroad until 1961, then as an assistant district attorney in Suffolk County between 1961-67.
Was appointed Commissioner of the Real Property Department for Boston between 1967-80.
Legal advisor to the Mayor of Boston for 16 years. General counsel for the Boston Redevelopment Authority.
Partner in the Boston law firm Mulhern and Mulhern with his father and brothers.
Passed away of congestive heart failure at Youville Hospital in Quincy, Massachusetts.

Né à Dorchester, il a grandi à Jamaica Plain, également dans le Massachusetts.
Quatrième enfant (sur six) d'un avocat de Boston, il a étudié à l'école St.Sebastian, diplômé en 1946.
A joué pour l'Université de Boston, diplômé en 1951, puis a représenté les États-Unis lors des Jeux olympiques 1952.
Centre très travailleur qui faisait preuve d'une grande intelligence sur la glace.
Il voulait s'enrôler dans l'armée mais les Jeux sont arrivés avant cela.
Il a ensuite rejoint l'école de droit de l'Université de Suffolk, dont il fut diplômé en 1956.
Sportif polyvalent qui à côté du hockey a remporté des titres en golf et en tennis. Il a aussi pratiqué le football et le baseball.
Il a travaillé pour la compagnie ferrovière de Boston et du Maine jusqu'en 1961, puis comme procureur de district adjoint du Comté de Suffolk entre 1961 et 1967.
Commissaire du département des biens immobiliers de Boston entre 1967 et 1980.
Conseiller juridique du maire de Boston pendant 16 ans. Conseiller général de l'agence de développement urbain de Boston.
Partenaire dans le cabinet juridique bostonien "Mulhern and Mulhern", avec son père et ses frères.
Décédé d'une insuffisance cardiaque à l'hôpital Youville de Quincy, Massachusetts.
