He was born in Oshawa and grew up playing hockey in Whitby. Inspired by Gary Roberts and Adam Foote in his younger years.
Good natural instincts in front of the goal. Very good shot with a quick trigger, using it frequently.
Pretty effective at using his size in the corners and in front of the net.
Inconsistent in the physical game, but had the ability to play a hard-hitting game. Sometimes taking bad penalties.
Thought Krys Barch was the toughest competitor that he played against.
His brother Michael was drafted by Dallas in the NHL 2007.

De bons instincts de buteur. Il a un très bon tir et le déclenche très vite et souvent.
Il utilise efficacement son gabarit (190 cm, 97 kg) dans les coins et devant la cage.
Bien qu'inconstant dans son jeu physique, il est capable de donner de fortes mises en échec. Il prend parfois de mauvaises pénalités.
Il considérait Krys Barch comme l'adversaire le plus rugueux qu'il ait affronté.
Son frère Michael a été drafté en NHL par Dallas en 2007.
