Extremely gifted athlete who represented Sweden in 19 times in football (soccer), 21 times (6 goals) in ice hockey and two times in bandy.
Quick skater with a good shot. He did not always take the best decisions out on the ice and was a rather poor playmaker.
He first played bandy hockey in the early 1920s together with his brother Otto. In the beginning Nilsson started out as a center.
He was also one of the ice hockey pioneers in Södertälje and scored the first ever goal for Södertälje, and was the first player from this club to represent Sweden (together with Carl Abrahamsson).
In 1928 he was supposed to play at the Olympics, but didn’t get a leave of absence from his work.
Nilsson won two Swedish league titles in hockey (1925, 1934), one in football and one in bandy. Retired in 1934.
He was very modest and always downplayed his playing career. Worked as a salesman and later was a sales executive with Gevalia (coffee).

Patineur rapide avec un bon tir, il avait en revanche plus de mal à créer du jeu et ne prenait pas toujours les meilleures décisions sur la glace.
Il a débuté par le bandy au début des années 1920 avec son frère Otto. Il jouait au centre au début de sa carrière.
Il fut aussi l'un des pionniers du hockey sur glace à Södertälje. Il a marqué le premier but de l'histoire du club et a été son premier joueur international (avec Carl Abrahamsson).
En 1928 il était censé participer aux Jeux olympiques, mais n'a pas pu obtenir de congé dans son travail.
Nilsson a été champion de Suède en hockey (1925, 1934), en football (1932) and et en bandy (1931).
Après sa retraite en 1934, il restait toujours modeste et minimisait sa carrière de joueur. Il a travaillé comme vendeur puis comme cadre commercial chez les cafés Gevalia.
