His father was born in Levice (Léva) what is Slovakia today. His grandfather was also born nearby. His mother hailed from Budapest. Béla had five brothers and two sisters.
An extremely diligent and swift-moving player.
An all-round sportsman. Hungarian champion in football 1901 and 1902. Two-time water polo champion in 1918 and 1919 with FTC. In tennis he won three club championships with FTC.
His sports career started in football with Budapest FC in 1897. He played as a midfielder and quickly established himself as a smart, speedy player and a good header. Named footballer of the year in 1902. Ordódy also represented the Austrian-Hungarian empire three times (1901, 1904). While still an active football player, he also refereed, even internationally.
After 1905 he quit football and started concentrating on other sports, namely bandy hockey. He quickly became a key player in goal for the BKE Budapest bandy hockey team before the game with a puck appeared in Hungary.
He was 48 years, 1 month and 2 days old when he played his last game at the 1928 Olympics.
Ordódy earned a chemical engineering degree from the Budapest University of Technology 1906 and continued to work as a chemical engineer in civilian life.
In sports he served as a coach, competition judge, and sports association employee.

Son père était natif de Levice (Léva) sur l'actuel territoire slovaque. Son grand-père était également des environs. Sa mère était originaire de Budapest. Béla avait cinq frères et deux sœurs.
Un joueur extrêmement appliqué et rapide. Sportif très complet.
Champion national avec le BTC Budapest au football (1901, 1902), puis avec Ferencváros au tennis (trois fois) et au water polo (1918 et 1919).
Sa carrière de sportif a débuté au football avec le BFC en 1897. Milieu de terrain, il s'est vite fait remarquer comme un joueur intelligent, rapide et bon de la tête. Footballeur de l'année en 1902, Ordódy compte trois sélections avec l'Empire d'Autriche-Hongrie (1901, 1904). Pendant sa carrière de joueur, il fut aussi arbitre international.
Après 1905 il quitta le football pour se concentrer vers d'autres sports, dont le bandy. Il devint rapidement un joueur clé dans les buts avec le club de bandy du BKE Budapest, avant que le jeu avec palet n'apparaisse en Hongrie.
Il avait 48 ans, 1 mois et 2 jours old quand il disputa son dernier match aux Jeux de 1928.
Ingénieur chimiste dans le civil, diplômé de l'Université de technologie de Budapest en 1906.
Dans le sport il officia également comme entraîneur, juge en compétition, et employé de fédération.
