Born in Šaca, a borough of Košice.
Very talented player and an exceptional skater with great puckhandling skills. Used a very curved stick in the NHL.
Extremely good anticipation. Useful in man advantage situations where he often organized the entire powerplay.
Sometimes taking bad penalties. A bit undersized when he played in the NHL.
Injuries often put an early end to his seasons and made him miss international tournaments (wrist 2004, knee 2006, hip 2007, thigh 2015).
In his final competitive game, Nagy as the Slovak captain, scored the shootout winning goal over Denmark at the 2019 World Championships. That same night, Nagy announced his retirement, a little more than a week before his 40th birthday.

Patineur puissant et explosif avec beaucoup de talent technique, il pouvait éliminer un adversaire dans un coin de la patinoire par son habileté.
Anticipation extrêmement bonne. Il organisait souvent le jeu pendant une supériorité numérique entière. Il utilisait une crosse très incurvée en NHL.
Il prenait parfois de mauvaises pénalités. Un peu petit pour la NHL (1,79 m) mais puissant et explosif.
Les blessures ont souvent mis une fin prématurée à ses saisons en lui faisant manquer des tournois internationaux (poignet en 2004, genou en 2006, hanche en 2007, cuisse en 2015).
Dans son dernier match de compétition, Nagy, nommé capitaine, a inscrit le pénalty vainqueur face au Danemark aux championnats du monde 2019. Le soir même, il annonçait a retraite, onze jours avant ses 40 ans.
311 points (115+196) en 435 parties de saison régulière dans la NHL.
