Son of a Vancouver logger. His great-great-uncle (James Bedard) played 22 NHL games for Chicago.
Outstanding offensive skills. A lethal shot with a lightning quick release, already one of the best in the world before he got 18. Exceptional vision, great skating and puckhandling. He displays a lot of confidence and it looks like he doesn't even sweat. Under average size (178 cm).
Named the "Future of Hockey" at 13 in an article by The Hockey News.
Under 18 world champion in 2021, Under 20 world champion in 2022 and 2023 (MVP and author of overtime-winning-goal after a performance described as "pure dominance"). Much hyped number 1 in 2023 NHL draft. Considered as the best hockey prospect since Connor McDavid.

Avec sa vision du jeu exceptionnelle et son formidable patinage, il donne un tel sentiment de facilité qu'il n'a même pas l'air de transpirer. Plus petit que la moyenne (1m78).
