His father was a seaman. One of the best Swedish two-way players in the early 1920s. Fast skater. Physically strong with allround skills.
First played bandy in 1916 for IK Göta, winning the Swedish championship in that sport 1929. In ice hockey he won three league titles (1923, 1929, 1930
Scored the first ever Swedish goal in an international game at the 1920 Olympics.
Got a shoulder injury just prior to the 1923 European Championships.
Stayed in Antwerp, Belgium in 1924 for a few months prior to his departure to USA. Moved to Youngtown, Ohio in the fall of 1924, arriving to New York late in September. During his stay over in USA he studied the game, played in Detroit and Minneapolis, improving in several areas.
In 1932 the leading Swedish sportsjournalists voted him as the best Swedish RW of all time (together with Sigge Öberg).
Oldest player and goalscorer in the Swedish league, scoring a goal at 42 years, 11 months and 20 days. Scored a total of 54 league goals.
Represented Sweden 37 times (28 goals). Worked as a hockey instructor in Finland 1932 and 1935.
He played in IK Göta’s reserve team until he was 50 and was active on skates until his 70s.
Also was an LIHG referee. Inducted into the Swedish Hockey Hall of Fame.

Le plus complet défensivement et offensivement parmi les pionniers suédois du hockey. Patineur rapide, physiquement solide, jouant en bonne coordination avec ses partenaires.
Son père était marin. Il commença le bandy en 1916 pour l'IK Göta. Championnat de Suède de bandy en 1929, et de hockey sur glace en 1923, 1929 et 1930, toujours avec ce même club.
Il a inscrit le tout premier but suédois en match international, lors des Jeux Olympiques 1920 d'Anvers.
Blessé à l'épaule juste avant les Championnats d'Europe 1923.
Il vécut en Belgique à Anvers en 1924 avant un départ pour les États-Unis. Arrivé à New York en septembre, il s'établit à Youngtown (Ohio) fin 1924. Durant son séjour aux États-Unis il se forma au hockey, joua à Detroit et Minneapolis, s'améliora dans plusieurs domaines.
En 1932 les journalistes sportifs suédois le désigna meilleur ailier droit suédois de tous les temps (à égalité avec Sigge Öberg).
54 buts en championnat, dont un à 42 ans, 11 mois et 20 jours qui en font le joueur et le buteur le plus âgé du championnat suédois.
37 sélections en équipe de Suède (28 buts). Instructeur de hockey en Finlande de 1932 à 1935. Également arbitre pour la LIHG.
Il joua pour l'équipe réserve de l'IK Göta jusqu'à ses 50 ans et patinait toujours à plus de 70 ans.
Intronisé au Hall of Fame du hockey suédois.
