The oldest of three Christian brothers, he played for United States in the 1956 Olympics. His siblings Roger and Bill also donned the US jersey. Also the uncle of Dave Christian.
Played for University of North Dakota. Later played for Hibbing Flyers and Warroad Lakers. Since retiring as a player in the early 1960s, he joined the family business, Christian Brothers Stick Co., a stick manufacturer.

L'aîné des frères Christian (il y avait aussi trois soeurs dans la famille), il représenta les États-Unis lors des Jeux olympiques 1956. Ses cadets Roger et Bill l'imitèrent quatre ans plus tard. Il est aussi l'oncle d'un autre héros olympique, Dave Christian.
Joua pour l'université du North Dakota, les Hibbing Flyers et les Warroad Lakers avant d'arrêter le hockey sur glace au début des années 1960. Rejoignit alors la fabrique familiale d'équipement de hockey sur glace, Christian Brothers Stick Co.
