Below average sized defenseman but not afraid to throw his body around to the best of his ability.
Solid two-way blueliner. Excellent skater with a good first outlet pass.
Named best defenceman of the 2008 World Junior Championships, Division IA.
Left his homeclub Mannheim at 21 to get better ice time and show his offensive skills in Wolfsburg.
After good playoffs in 2011 he was expected in the national team. Germany came in Slovakia with 26 players for a 25-man roster and he waited for his turn before going home when the last spots were filled before the second round.
Next season he was German top scoring defenceman in the DEL. He also shone in the World Championships but got a knee injury who made him miss more than one year.
He chose to sign with Mannheim to make his comeback and became German champion 2015. Also played on Iserlohn, Schwenningen and DEL2.

De taille réduite (1m80), ce défenseur droitier n'hésite jamais à faire usage au mieux de son corps.
Défenseur offensif fiable, bon relanceur. Un des meilleurs patineurs des arrières de sa génération.

Il quitte son club formateur Mannheim à 21 ans pour avoir un meilleur temps de jeu à Wolfsburg, où il démontre ses qualités offensives.
Après de beaux playoffs en 2011 il est attendu comme titulaire en équipe nationale. L'Allemagne arrive en Slovaquie avec 26 joueurs pour 23 places, puis 25 au second tour du Mondial. Le joueur de trop est Fischer, qui passe le premier tour sur place en attendant son tour mais est renvoyé chez lui.
Il devient le meilleur marqueur des défenseurs allemands lors de la saison 2011/12 de DEL et confirme aux championnats du monde... mais s'y fait mal au genou. Une arthroscopie pendant l'été révèle que les cartilages sont endommagés et il passe alors une saison blanche.
Il choisit de signer à Mannheim pour son retour et y devient champion d'Allemagne 2015. Il joue ensuite à Iserlohn, à Schwenningen, puis en DEL2.
