Came from a rather wealthy family. His father, a successful merchant, died when he was a youngster so he was mainly raised by his mother.
He grew up in a household with two older and two younger brothers, as well as three servants.
Described as a gentlemanly player but also tough and hard if needed.
A frequent shooter during games. A bit selfish at times and inaccurate with his shots.
His greatest asset was his smooth and fast skating. The first "documented" Swedish ice hockey player. He started his career as a bandy player at AIK (Stockholm) in 1909.
In 1911 he moved to Berlin, Germany to study. Primarily a left wing but also played as a right wing. He joined Eislaufverein Berlin to play ice hockey and joined Berliner SC in December of that year.
His trademark was wearing a white scarf during games.
Left Germany for Sweden during WW I. At the time he was ranked as one of the best ice hockey players in Europe. Played 21 games for Germany between 1912 and 1914 and said it was a strange feeling representing another country than Sweden.
Won the German Championship (twice), the Austrian Championship (twice) and the LIHG tournament in 1912 and 1913. Was an engineer, and between 1911 and 1917 he worked in Berlin for Wayss & Freytag Ingenieurbau AG. From 1917 he worked in Stockholm for Skånska Cementgjuteriet.
Inducted into the Swedish Hockey Hall of Fame.

Vient d'une famille plutôt riche. Son père, un marchand, meurt quand il est jeune.
Il est élevé principalement par sa mère, dans une maison avec 2 aînés et 2 cadets, ainsi que 3 serviteurs.
Décrit comme un joueur gentleman, mais aussi dur quand il le fallait.
Tirait très souvent. Un peu égoïste des fois et pas forcément précis dans ses tirs.
Sa grande qualité est son patinage rapide et souple. C'est le premier joueur suédois "documenté". Il a commencé sa carrière comme joueur de bandy au AIK en 1909.
En 1911, il déménage à Berlin pour étudier. D'abord à l'aile gauche mais jouait aussi à droite. Il rejoint l'Eislaufverein Berlin pour jouer au hockey et ensuite le Berliner SC en décembre.
Son signe distinctif est de porter un foulard blanc pendant le jeu.
Quitte l’Allemagne pour la Suède pendant la Première Guerre mondiale. À ce moment, c'est l'un des meilleurs joueurs en Europe.
Il a joué 21 parties pour l'Allemagne entre 1912 et 1914 et a dit que ça lui faisait bizarre de représenter un autre pays que la Suède.
Il a gagné 2 fois le championnat d'Allemagne, 2 fois le championnat d'Autriche et le tournoi LIHG en 1912 et 1913.
Ingénieur, il travaille à Berlin entre 1911 et 1917 pour Wayss & Freytaf Ingenieurbau AG. À partir de 1917 il travaille à Stockholm pour Skånska Cementgjuteriet.
Membre du temple de la renommée suédois du hockey.
