Older brother of Bostjan and father of Jan Goličič. Just like them he played a few years of junior in Canada.
Good all-round and versatile player. Played as a defenseman, winger and as a center. Didn't shine in any specific area. Not much of a physical player.
Won five consecutive Slovenian championships with Olimpija, went to arch-rival Jesenice... and won three more titles in a four-year span.
Announced his retirement on June 11, 2010 when he turned 29 because he wanted to become a professional commercial pilot. He already had a private jet license at the time. He worked for Ryanair from 2011 to 2024 before joining a Middle East flight company... and lacing up skates again for a Qatar ice hockey club.

Frère aîné de Bostjan et père de Jan Goličič. Comme eux, il a joué quelques années en hockey junior au Canada.
Bon joueur complet et polyvalent, pas spécialement physique, qui ne brillait pas dans un domaine particulier. Il jouait défenseur, ailier et centre.
Cinq fois de suite champion de Slovénie avec l'Olimpija, il passe à Jesenice... et remporte 3 autres titres en 4 ans !
Il annonce sa retraite le 11 juin 2010 en atteignant 29 ans parce qu'il veut devenir pilote de ligne professionnel. Il a déjà pris des leçons de pilotage depuis dix ans et a sa licence de vol en avion privé. Il travaille dix ans pour Ryanair de 2011 à 2024 avant d'être embauché par une autre compagnie aérienne établie au Moyen-Orient. Il rejoue alors au hockey sur glace au Qatar - son nouveau domicile - à 43 ans.
