Good-sized goaltender (187 cm, 92 kg). Loyal and reliable teammate.
As he skated with his mother he got fascinated by the goaltender equipment and had a vocation.
He had his great moment at 21 when he replaced his injured youth model Reinhard Divis during Austrian final 2011 to win his first "true" championship with Salzburg (he had also been Austrian champion 2008 and 2010 but only played one game per season).
His first start with Austria national team was a 1-5 defeat vs Japan in November 2011.
He remained a backup his whole career, playing from 8 to 22 games every year with Salzburg, Villach, Graz, Dornbirn and Linz.
He didn't play with Austria in an official competition before he was 34... and it was a desaster since he was pulled after one period.

En allant patiner avec sa mère, il est fasciné par l'équipement des gardiens de hockey et trouve sa vocation.
À 21 ans, il connaît son grand moment en remplaçant son modèle de jeunesse Reinhard Divis blessé à l'épaule en finale autrichienne 2011 pour remporter son premier "vrai" titre avec Salzbourg (il avait aussi été champion d'Autriche 2008 et 2010 mais n'avait joué qu'un match dans la saison).
Sa première titularisation en équipe d'Autriche est une défaite 1-5 contre le Japon en novembre 2011.
Il reste second gardien pendant la suite de sa carrière, jouant entre 8 et 22 matches par an avec Salzbourg, Villach, Graz, Dornbirn et Linz.
Il attend 34 ans pour jouer son premier match en compétition officielle avec l'Autriche... et c'est un désastre puisqu'il se fait sortir après un tiers-temps.
