Versatile athlete who enjoyed his greatest success as an ice hockey player. Was often referred to as the "Polish-American", so it is possible that he lived in the United States for several years while growing up.
Represented Poland 53 times (22 goals). Was a three-time Olympian. Always faithful to Cracovia where he played between 1928 and 1951, winning three league titles (1937, 1946, 1949). His first game in a Cracovia uniform came on March 4, 1928. Up until 1937 he scored 95 goals in 101 games for Cracovia.
He won the Polish championship in handball 1933 and was the runner-up in basketball and Water Polo 1946. During WW II he fought for his country and spent several years in a POW camp (Woldenberg). While there he was the vice-president of the Soldiers Sports Club. Later became a referee in several sports. Also nicknamed "Nowak".

Athlète multisports, c'est en hockey sur glace que ses talents s'exprimèrent le mieux. Souvent surnommé "l'Américano-Polonais", il est probable qu'il ait passé une partie de sa jeunesse aux États-Unis.
53 sélections nationales pour la Pologne, 22 buts. Trois participations aux JO, la première à 20 ans, la dernière à 36. N'a joué en club que pour Cracovia, un parcours de 23 ans qui débutera le 4 mars 1928 et sera ponctué de trois titres de champion (1937, 1946, 1949) puis de 95 buts lors de ses 101 premiers matches avec le club (décompte arrêté en 1937 pour des raisons évidentes).
Également champion de Pologne en handball (1937), et vice-champion en basket et en water-polo (1946). Engagé au front pour l'armée polonaise pendant la Seconde Guerre mondiale, il sera interné plusieurs années au camp de prisonniers de guerre de Woldenberg. Là-bas, il sera élu vice-président d'un "club sportif des soldats" présents sur place. Devenu arbitre dans différents sports après le conflit.
