Drafted in the NHL by Washington Capitals 1991. Spent 1995/96 season with Team Canada. One of the coaches, Andy Murray, offered him to go with him to Berlin.
Murray eventually didn't sign in Berlin, but Leask did. He played in Germany for the rest of his career, got married and gained German citizenship in 2004
Two-time league champion in the German league in 2005 and 2006.
Announced his retirement on April 25, 2013. He became a hockey coach later on.
Willowdale and Toronto are other birthplaces listed for him.

Drafté en NHL par les Capitals de Washington en 1991. Il passe la saison 1995/96 avec le Team Canada, dont un des entraîneurs, Andy Murray, lui propose d'aller avec lui à Berlin.
Murray n'ira jamais à Berlin, mais Leask passera le reste de sa carrière en Allemagne, s'y mariera et obtiendra la nationalité en 2004.
Deux fois champion d'Allemagne en 2005 et 2006.
Après avoir pris sa retraite le 25 avril 2013, Leask est devenu entraîneur.
Certaines sources font état d'une naissance à Willowdale ou à Toronto.
