Considered to be a legend in Košice, where he played with his brothers Imrich and Jozef. Father in law of Jiří Bicek.
Offensively gifted player with a good shot. Dangerous around the goal. Natural goalscorer.
Also nicknamed "Bizon". Scored 393 league goals in 513 games.
Lukáč represented Czechoslovakia 146 times (70 goals).
At the 1984 Olympics he had a +11 rating and wasn’t on the ice for a single goal against.
Lukáč finished his playing career in West Germany, Austria, England and Scotland.
Was involved in politics after his playing career, being a member of the Slovakian parliament (for nationalist party SNS).
Inducted into the Slovakian and Czech Hockey Hall of Fame.
