He grew up 100 metres from the local ice hockey stadium in Nowy Targ.
Started playing hockey in a team as a 10-year old.
Often played against boys that were four years older than him.
He was hit in the face twice during his first game as a goalie.
The teammates admired him for not being afraid being hit in the face.
Was chosen as the best goaltender at the 1979 U-18 European Championships.
According to Łukaszka, Vancouver Canucks of the NHL wanted him to attend training camp.
However, back then you had to be at least 27 in order to get released from Poland.
He retired at a young age but was coaxed into a three game comeback in the early 1990s.
Łukaszka became an ordained priest, something he knew he wanted to be from the age of six.

Il commença le hockey en club à 10 ans et jouait souvent avec des jeunes âgés de quatre ans de plus.

Selon Łukaszka, les Canucks de Vancouver en NHL voulaient le faire venir à un camp d'entraînement.
Cependant, à l'époque, il fallait avoir plus de 27 ans pour quitter la Pologne.
Il prit sa retraite à un jeune âge mais fit un retour de trois matchs au début des années 1990.
Łukaszka est devenu un prêtre ordonné, une vocation qui remonte à ses six ans.
