Solid but unspectacular defenseman. Always did what the coaches asked of him.
Studied at University of British Columbia, taking his B.A. in physical education. He taught three years in Winnipeg at St.John’s Ravenscourt.
In 1970 he moved to Sudbury, ON to teach at LaSalle secondary school where he spent the next four years.
In 1975 he received an offer to play and coach in Japan. It was the same company that had hired his Olympic teammate Terry O’Malley.
After coming back from Japan he stayed involved in ice hockey.
Was the president for Notre Dame College, coaching future NHL-players like Wendel Clark, Russ Courtnall and Curtis Joseph.
Also worked as a coordinator of player development for the Minnesota Wild.
Inducted into the IIHF Hockey Hall of Fame.

Défenseur solide mais peu spectaculaire. Toujours dans le respect des consignes du coach.
Diplômé en éducation physique à l'université de Colombie Britannique, il enseigna trois ans à Winnipeg au St.John’s Ravenscourt.
En 1970 il déménagea à Sudbury, dans l'Ontario pour enseigner au lycée LaSalle pendant quatre années.
En 1975 il reçut une offre pour jouer et entraîner au Japon, par la même compagnie qui avait embauché son coéquipier olympique Terry O’Malley.
Après son retour du Japon, il resta investi dans le hockey.
Il fut président de l'Université Notre Dame et entraîna de futurs joueurs NHL comme Wendel Clark, Russ Courtnall ou Curtis Joseph.
Il travailla également comme coordinateur des joueurs au sein de l'organisation des Wild du Minnesota.
Intronisé au Hall of Fame de l'IIHF.
