Strong and hard-working forward. Sometimes an agitator. Fearless in the slot area.
His father has a plumbing company and Rok worked there in the summers during his youth.
He was too young to star football and was brought to ice hockey by a coach who was a family friend.
Went to Austria, then - at 17 - to the Czech Republic where he met his girlfriend but struggled first at senior level.
At 22, he played in 2. Liga (third level) in Nový Jičín and worked in a café from 9AM to 1PM. Next season he went to Přerov (1/ Liga) and worked in a electronics warehouse afternoons.
Only at 26, after seven years living in that city, Olomouc gave him a second chance to crack their Extraliga roster. He exceeded expectations and scored more points (25) than in lower division! So he finally got his first call in Slovenian national team.
In October 2022 a idiot fan from Třebíč let off a firecracker on the penalty bench and he got headache for a month. In September 2024 an Ukrainian hit left him with a concussion in the hospital.

Combatif, fort dans les duels et parfois provocateur, il joue direct et n'a pas peur d'aller dans l'enclave.
Son père a une entreprise de plomberie dans laquelle Rok travaillait l'été dans sa jeunesse.
Trop jeune pour commencer le football, il a été initié au hockey sur glace par un entraîneur ami de la famille.
Il cherche d'abord à progresser en partant en Autriche (Klagenfurt), puis à 17 ans dans les championnats tchèques de jeunes. Il y rencontre l'amour mais peine à s'imposer en senior.
À 22 ans, il recule en 2. Liga (troisième division, à Nový Jičín) où il est employé dans un café de 9h à 13h. Il monte la saison suivante en 1. Liga (à Přerov) et doit travailler dans un entrepôt d'électronique l'après-midi avant l'entraînement pour joindre les deux bouts.
Ce n'est qu'à 26 ans que le club d'Olomouc - ville où il réside depuis 7 ans - lui redonne une chance en Extraliga. Il se bat pour une place en quatrième ligne... mais dépasse toutes les espérances avec de meilleures statistiques qu'en division inférieure (25 points). Il connaît enfin sa première sélection en équipe de Slovénie en novembre 2023.
En octobre 2022, un pétard lancé sur le banc des pénalités par un fan imbécile de Třebíč explose près de son oreille. Il a des acouphènes pendant plus d'un mois. En septembre 2024, c'est une mise en échec ukrainienne qui l'envoie à l'hôpital avec une commotion cérébrale.
