Began playing hockey in Chamonix where he suited up alongside his two-year-older brother Bruno (9 national team games).
Pascal Margerit was of smaller stature (175 cm, 77 kg) but was feisty with good natural scoring instincts.
Scored his two goals with French senior national team before he was 20. Played 22 games in total, scoring 3 points (2+1).
150 points (60+90) in 234 French elite games. League finalist in 1994 (with Chamonix) and 2000 (with Caen).
In later years he became a longtime captain for Nice, retiring in 2008. Went on to coach in Nice and Lyon.

Il a commencé le hockey à Chamonix aux côtés de son frère aîné de deux ans Bruno (qui compte 9 sélections et 1 but).
Pascal Margerit était de corpulence légère (175 cm, 77 kg) mais plein de fougue avec des instincts naturels de buteur.
Il a inscrit ses deux seuls buts en équipe de France sénior avant d'avoir 20 ans ! Il compte au total 22 sélections en bleu pour 3 points (2+1).
150 points (60+90) en 234 parties d'élite française. Vice-champion de France 1994 avec Chamonix et 2000 avec Caen.
Devenu trentenaire, il fut longtemps capitaine de Nice, tout étant employé au service du protocole de la mairie.
À sa retraite en 2008, il est devenu entraîneur à Nice et à Lyon.
