Was a scrappy player who didn’t back down from anyone.
He was one of the premier body-checking defensemen in the NHL and thrived in physical games.
A two-way defenseman for much of his career. His booming shot from the point was often used on power plays.
On His last NHL-affiliation as a player came on September 20, 2007, when he accepted an invitation from the Vancouver Canucks to attend their training camp. He was released by the team eleven days later.
Instead he accepted an offer from Germany and went on to finish his playing career there, retiring in 2010.

Défenseur offensif dans la majeure partie de sa carrière. Son lourd lancer de la ligne bleue était souvent utilisé en supériorité numérique.
Son dernier contact de joueur avec la NHL est intervenu le 20 septembre 2007, quand il accepta une invitation à un camp d'entraînement des Canucks de Vancouver. Il fut libéré par la franchise onze jours plus tard.
Il accepta alors une offre en Allemagne et y termina sa carrière, prenant sa retraite en 2010.
