McVey, Robert Patrick

Attended Harvard and was awarded the John Tudor Memorial Cup as the MVP of the Harvard hockey team (1958).
In 1959 he turned down a professional offer from the Boston Bruins to play for their top minor league team the Kingston Frontenacs (EPHL).
At the 1960 Olympics, he played on the top line with the Cleary brothers.
After the Olympics, McVey returned to his home in Connecticut where he had set up his own insurance business.
He lived in Hamden, Connecticut before moving to Florida.

Étudiant à Harvard, il reçut le trophée de la John Tudor Memorial Cup comme MVP de l'équipe de hockey d'Harvard en 1958.
En 1959 il refusa une proposition de contrat professionnel des Bruins de Boston pour jouer dans leur meilleure équipe de ligue mineure des Frontenacs de Kingston (EPHL).
Lors des Jeux Olympiques de 1960, il jouait sur la première ligne avec les frères Cleary.
Après les Jeux, McVey retourna dans le Connecticut où il se lanca comme assureur indépendant.
Il a vécu à Hamden (Connecticut) avant de partir en Floride.
