Tried several sports as young kid and at age twelve he began playing organized hockey in a club.
Was discovered by old national team player Vlastimil Hajsman.
Progressive defenseman with a good shot.
Made the national team very quickly and got his first call up to the national team in December 1980.
Was on his way to play in the 1981 Canada Cup when it was discovered that he had Jaundice type B.
Hoped to come back but had to retire as a player on the advice of doctors.
Instead he became a hockey coach and manager. Worked for the Czech Hockey Federation.
Also coached the Czech U-18 team and was a general manager for the Czech U-20 team.

Il a essayé plusieurs sports avant de s'arrêter sur le hockey, il débuta en club à 12 ans.
Découvert par l'ancien international Vlastimil Hajsman.
Défenseur tourné vers l'offensive, avec un bon lancer.
Il a rejoint rapidement la sélection avec une première apparition en décembre 1980.
Il devait participer à la coupe Canada de 1981 quand on lui détecta un ictère de type B.
Il espérait pouvoir revenir au jeu mais dut prendre sa retraite sur les préconisations des médecins.
Devenu alors entraîneur et manager. Il travailla pour la fédération tchécoslovaque de hockey sur glace.
Entraîneur de l'équipe nationale des moins de 18 ans et manager des moins de 20 ans.
