Morozov was born in Verkhnyaya Salda, in the Sverdlovsk region.
Started playing hockey before the age of four. Moved to Tyumen at age eight to play hockey there.
When Vegas Golden Knights drafted Morozov in 2018 he was touted as a high-quality two-way center.
He saw himself more as an offensive player and tried to pattern his game in the same mold as Evgeny Kuznetsov. Morozov always relied more on power and strength, rather than finesse. But his puck control is safe. With his hockey IQ he can foresee passing lanes and knows when to slow down or to speed up an attack.
Speedy and not afraid to crash the net. Armed with a quality wrist shot.
Above average both defensively and on face-offs. Used both on powerplays and penalty kills.
Partly guilty in the overtime goal conceded vs Canada in 2021 World championship quarter final, he had a tough season afterwards before trying his luck shortly - without success - in North America. Revived in Spartak from 2023 on a line with Nikolai Goldobin and Pavel Poryadin.
Suspended for one month and got a severe pay cut after cocaine was found in his body in a preseason game test in August 2025.

Né à Verkhnyaïa Salda dans l'Oural, Morozov a commencé à pratiquer le hockey avant 4 ans et est parti à 8 ans à Tioumen pour y jouer au hockey.
Les Golden Knights de Vegas ont drafté Morozov en 2018 car il était vu comme un centre de haute qualité offensive et défensive.
Il se voyait lui-même plus comme un joueur offensif et essayait de calquer son jeu sur celui d'Evgeny Kuznetsov. Morozov s'est toujours plus appuyé sur la puissance et la force que sur la finesse technique. Mais son contrôle du palet est très sûr. Avec son intelligence de jeu, il anticipe les lignes de passe potentielles et sait quand ralentir ou accélérer une attaque.
Rapide et ne craignant pas d'aller fort à la cage, Morozov est armé d'un bon tir du poignet.
Au-dessus de la moyenne défensivement et sur les mises au jeu, il est utilisé aussi bien en supériorité qu'en infériorité numérique.
En partie coupable du but en prolongation contre le Canada en quart de finale du championnat du monde 2021, il eut du mal à s'en remettre et connut une saison suivante difficile en Russie avant de tenter vainement sa chance en Amérique du Nord. Relancé au Spartak à partir de 2023 sur une ligne avec Nikolai Goldobin et Pavel Poryadin.
Contrôlé positif à la cocaïne après un match de présaison en août 2025, il est suspendu seulement un mois parce qu'il se repentit et collabore avec l'agence antidopage. Il subit toutefois une coupe de salaire.
