He emerged as a talented young player in his hometown of Cluj.
In 1951/52, the playing coach of the team C.C.A. Bucuresti, Mihai Falmoropol, gathered players from around Romania to challenge for the league title. One of the players that he picked for his team was the young Adalbert “Albi” Nagy.
Nagy was always in good physical shape and was a good skater.

En 1951/52, l'entraîneur-joueur du C.C.A. Bucarest, Mihai Falmoropol, a rassemblé des joueurs de toute la Roumanie pour former une équipe capable de remporter le titre. Parmi les joueurs qu'il a recrutés, le jeune Adalbert "Albi" Nagy.
Nagy était toujours en bonne forme physique et était un bon patineur.
