Born in Montreal, QC but grew up in Terrebonne, QC.
At the age of 20, this cran operator played in far away Saint-Pierre et Miquelon, thinking that his hockey career was pretty much over after a decent junior career in the QMJHL. Everything changed when he got an offer to play in France in 1991.
Smaller player who was better suited for the European type of hockey with less emphasis on physicality.
Two-time French league champion after having spent eight seasons in France and three in Germany.
Twice he won the Raymond Dewas trophy, given to the most sportsmanlike player in the French league.
Represented France as he became a French citizen by marriage.
Retired in 2002 and went into coaching.
His son Xavier played 178 games in the NHL.

Né à Montréal, il a grandi à Terrebonne, également au Québec.
À 20 ans, ce grutier d'exercice jouait dans la lointaine Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon, et considérait que sa carrière dans le hockey était déjà quasiment terminée après un beau parcours dans la ligue junior majeur du Québec (186 points en 220 matches). Tout a changé quand il a reçu une proposition pour jouer à Anglet en deuxième division française.
Joueur petit et donc plus adapté à un style de hockey européen, où tout ne repose pas sur le physique.
Deux titres de champion de France lors de ses passages d'un an à Brest puis à Grenoble.
Deux fois récipiendiaire du trophée Raymond Dewas, attribué au joueur le plus fair-play du championnat de France.
Il a pu porter les couleurs de la France en obtenant la nationalité par mariage.
Retraité en 2002 après un retour d'un an à Anglet, devenu entraîneur. Son fils Xavier a joué 178 parties de NHL.
