His father Serge, a hospital nurse, grew up in Montreuil, near Paris, and settled in Aurières, a small village in Auvergne volcano natural park.
Justin is the oldest of three sons. He went to Rouen at 13, then played two years in the NAHL and four NCAA seasons before turning pro.
Huge size (198 cm, 113 kg). A big power forward who is at his best in the slot area.
He was used as an unexpected first-line centre and scored a goal after 24 seconds in his very first game with French national team in May 2023.

Son père Serge, un infirmier urgentiste qui a grandi à Montreuil en Seine-Saint-Denis, s'est installé à Aurières, petit village dans le Parc naturel régional des volcans d'Auvergne.
L'aîné de ses trois fils, Justin, a quitté sa famille à 13 ans pour rejoindre le centre de formation de Rouen, où il a passé son bac scientifique avec un an d'avance et suivi une première année de licence de biochimie.
Il est alors parti aux États-Unis et a passé deux ans en NAHL et quatre en NCAA avant de devenir hockeyeur professionnel.
Doté d'un gabarit énorme (198 cm, 113 kg) qu'il installe dans le slot, Justin est un joueur très précieux en avantage numérique pour masquer le gardien et mettre les palets au fond.
Aligné au centre du premier trio pour son tout premier match en équipe de France en mai 2023, il a inscrit un but après 24 secones à peine.
