Marek Bartánus’ father worked as an NHL. His cousin Karol Bartánus was drafted in the NHL by Boston Bruins 1997.
Tantalizing player with great size (190 cm, 99 kg) and skills. Effortless skating stride with good agility and balance.
Good at handling the puck in heavy traffic areas and a slick stickhandler.
Pretty heavy wrist shot and slap shot, but did not use it enough. Good at driving the puck to the net.
Below average defensively and a lazy backchecker. Not very keen on doing the dirty work in the corners.
Lacking a bit of elite hockey sense and an average passer. Lack of intensity and discipline at times.
Best goalscorer of Slovak Extraliga 2010 (28 goals) during his only year with home club Liptovský Mikuláš.
Seven-time Slovak champion - a national record - in 2012 (with Slovan Bratislava), 2014, 2015 (Košice), 2018, 2019 (Banská Bystrica), 2023 and 2025 (Košice again).

Joueur alléchant, avec un beau gabarit (190 cm, 99 kg) et du talent. Il patine sans effort avec agilité et équilibre.
Il peut conduire le palet jusqu'à la cage tant il le manie bien dans un trafic intense.
Son tir du poignet et son lancer frappé sont aussi très bons, mais il ne les utilise pas assez.
Moins bon défensivement et un peu paresseux pour le repli. Pas très désireux de faire le sale boulot dans les coins.
Passeur moyen qui manque un peu de sens du hockey au plus haut niveau. L'intensité et la discipline lui font parfois défaut.
Sept fois champion de Slovaquie - un record national - en 2012 (avec le Slovan Bratislava), 2014, 2015 (Košice), 2018, 2019 (Banská Bystrica), 2023 et 2025 (de nouveau Košice).
