Intelligent player on the ice and a tough customer in his own zone.
Tireless worker, a real gladiator on the ice. Also played as a center from time to time.
NCAA champion 1962 with the Michigan Tech Huskies.
Was chosen to the 1966 World Championship All-Star team.
After the tournament he seriously thought about never playing in the World Championships again because of the horrible international referees.
Eventually retired in 1969 after a nagging back injury. Studied law at University of Manitoba. Worked as a lawyer and engineer and real-estate developer, first in Vancouver and then in Colorado. Was the legal advisor for teammate Ted Hargreaves when he negotiated for pro contracts.

Après ce tournoi il pensa sérieusement ne plus participer aux championnats du monde en raison de l'arbitrage international qu'il jugea horrible.
Il prit sa retraite finalement en 1969 après une blessure lancinante au dos. Il étudia le droit à l'université de Manitoba. Il travailla comme avocat, ingénieur et promoteur immobilier, d'abord à Vancouver puis dans le Colorado. Il fut le conseiller juridique de son coéquipier Ted Hargreaves quand ce dernier négociait pour ses contrats professionnels.
