Big defenseman with a very hard shot. Represented Czechoslovakia 64 times (14 goals).
Carried the Czechoslovakian flag at the opening ceremonies of the 1952 and 1956 Winter Olympics.
Didn't play in 1953 World Championship because of illness.
Played 1956 Olympic tournament with a not fully healed collarbone injury and would not use his main weapon - his shot.
Coached the Yugoslavian National Team at the 1964 Olympics and 1965 Pool B World Championships.
Was a distant relative to Gustav and Vladimir Bubnik according to Vladimir.

Grand défenseur avec un très lourd lancer. International tchécoslovaque 64 fois (14 buts).
Porte-drapeau de la Tchécoslovaquie pour les Jeux olympiques d'hiver de 1952 et 1956.
Blessé, il ne participe pas aux Mondiaux 1953.
Il a joué les JO 1956 avec une blessure à la clavicule non totalement guérie et il ne pouvait pas utiliser son arme majeure, son tir.
Il entraîna la Yougoslavie à l'occasion des JO de 1964 et les Mondiaux B de 1965.
Il aurait un lien de parenté éloigné avec Gustav et Vladimir Bubnik, d'après Vladimir.
