Learned to play ice hockey for EV Moosburg before heading to nearby Landshut as a 17-year old.
After six years playing in the second league, he joined Kassel (DEL) whose coach Hans Zach also led the German national team.
His good season convinced Zach to pick him for the World Championships.
Retired in 2013 and became a hockey coach.
After he led Erding from Bayernliga (fourth division) to Oberliga (third division) in 2025 he decided to leave this job to become a full-time youth hockey coach.

Il a appris le hockey au EV Moosburg avant de partir chez le voisin Landshut à 17 ans.
Après six années en deuxième division, a rejoint Kassel (DEL) dont le coach Hans Zach était le sélectionneur national.
Une bonne saison a convaincu Zach de le choisir pour les championnats du monde.
Retraité en 2013 et devenu entraîneur.
Après avoir conduit Erding de Bayernliga (quatrième division) en Oberliga (troisième division) en 2025 il décida de quitter son poste pour devenir entraîneur de jeunes à plein temps.
