Son of a Canadian mother and Jamaican father. Started ice hockey at 5. His two brothers also liked to chase the puck.
A diminutive winger with solid balance and low gravity. Speedy and good in tight spaces.
Good hands. Hard worker in all three zones. But his game was a bit unstable in his younger years.
He scored his first NHL goal on October 21, 2006 during a Hockey Night in Canada game in Toronto (5-4) in front of members of his father's family who live there.
Went on to play in the KHL 2011 for Kazakh team Barys Astana. On March 24, 2016 the IIHF announced it had approved him to represent Kazakhstan. He had previously represented Canada at the World Junior Championships and had to play four years in Kazakhstan before he could switch his national team.
Still came back every summer to his home in Winnipeg, which is also his wife's hometown. Retired in 2023.

Fils d'une mère canadienne et d'un père jamaïcain. Il a commencé le hockey sur glace - sport que pratiquaient aussi ses deux frères - à 5 ans.
Petit ailier avec un bon équilibre et un centre de gravité bas. Rapide et doué dans les petits espaces.
Bonnes mains. Gros travailleur dans les trois zones. Mais son jeu était un peu instable quand il était jeune.
A marqué son premier but NHL le 21 octobre 2006 avec les New York Rangers dans un match à Toronto (5-4), diffusé dans l'émission-culte Hockey Night in Canada, avec en tribunes des membres de la famille de son père qui habitent dans la région.
Parti jouer en KHL en 2011 pour le Barys Astana dans la capitale du Kazakhstan. Le 24 mars 2016 l'IIHF a annoncé qu'il était autorisé à représenter le Kazakhstan. Comme il avait auparavant representé le Canada aux championnats du monde, il a dû passer les quatre années réglementaires au Kazakhstan avant de pouvoir changer d'équipe nationale.
Il revient chaque été chez lui à Winnipeg, qui est aussi la ville de sa femme. Retraité en 2023.
