Technically skilled player with good game smartness. Not particularly fast but a fine playmaker and good at small spaces.
Grew up idolizing Sven Tumba. Began playing for a local team in Stockholm named ‚Lilla Vesslan‘ (Little Weasel) before coming to Hammarby. There he was coached by legendary player Holger Nurmela.
Quickly earned the nickname ‚Råttan‘ (The Rat), which stuck with him throughout his playing career. Got that nickname because he had the same jersey number as a football player in Hammarby, named Lasse „Råttan“ Bohman.
Mostly remembered for his great goal against Soviet Union (5-1) at the 1977 World Championships.
After a successful World Championship tournament in 1978 he was approached by Washington and signed an NHL contract. Considered Mats Åhlberg to be the best player he played with.
Scored 280 points (147+133) en 353 career games in Swedish highest league. Represented Sweden a total of 46 times.
Also a very decent football player. Retired in 1985. Worked as a carpet fitter.

Joueur techniquement doué avec une bonne intelligence de jeu. Pas particulièrement rapide mais créatif et bon dans les petits espaces.
Son idole de jeunesse était Sven Tumba.Il a commencé à jouer pour une équipe locale de Stockholm appelée "Lilla Vesslan" ("petite belette") avant d'arriver à Hammarby, où il a été entraîné par le joueur légendaire Holger Nurmela.
Il a vite été affublé du surnom "Råttan" ("le Rat") qui lui a collé à la peau toute sa carrière. Il a obtenu ce surnom parce qu'il avait le même numéro de maillot qu'un footballeur de Hammarby nommé named Lasse "Råttan" Bohman.
Il est principalement resté dans les mémoires pour son but marqué en angle très réduit contre l'URSS (5-1) aux championnats du monde 1977.
Après un Mondial réussi en 1978, il a été approché par Washington et a signé un contrat NHL. 103 points (45+58) en 184 parties de NHL.
280 points (147+133) en 353 parties dans l'élite suédoise. 46 sélections en équipe de Suède.
Considérait Mats Åhlberg comme le meilleur coéquipier avec lequel il ait joué.
C'était également un joueur de football de niveau très correct. Retraité en 1985. Il a travaillé comme poseur de moquettes.
