Began playing ice hockey from the age of ten with his home team EK Zell am See.
Consistent and unspectacular defenseman who was regarded as one of Austria’s top blueliners for almost a decade.
In 1972 he moved to Graz for his studies and joined ATSE Graz, winning two titles with the club.
When ATSE got relegated in 1979 he joined Kapfenberger SV and in 1980 joined HC Salzburg, playing with them through 1982.
Played a total of 382 league games, scoring 102 points (26+76). Represented Austria 71 times (1+6) and was often paired with Bernard Hutz.
Was an engineer and ran his own business, a construction company.
Died in 2011 after a skiing accident in which he broke his neck.

Il a commencé le hockey à 10 ans au EK Zell am See.
Défenseur régulier et peu spectaculaire qui était considéré comme l'un des meilleurs arrières d'Autriche pendant près de dix ans.
En 1972 il est parti étudier à Graz et a remporté deux titres avec l'ATSE Graz.
Quand l'ATSE a été relégué en 1979, il a rejoint le Kapfenberger SV pour un an avant de finir sa carrière au HC Salzbourg de 1980 à 1982.
102 points (26+76) en 382 parties de championnat autrichien. 71 sélections en équipe d'Autriche (1+6), souvent sur la même paire que Bernard Hutz.
Il était ingénieur et dirigeait sa propre entreprise, dans le bâtiment.
Mort en 2011 après s'être brisé la nuque dans un accident de ski.
