From a family with strong hockey pedigree. His uncle Michael represented Austria.
His brother Christoph represented Austria as a junior and his cousin Stephan Herzog represented Austria both as a junior and senior.
Two-time Austrian junior champion with Villacher SV in 2011 and 2012.
Made his debut on the national team on February 10, 2017 vs Norway (2-1).
A butterfly goalie, spending a lot of time on his knees. Quick and agile.
Plays competitive tennis during the summer with TC Fresach along with other ice hockey players (Andreas Kristler and the Raffl/Rauchenwald family).
Missed the whole 2020/21 season because of a hip surgery.

Originaire d'une famille de hockeyeurs. Son oncle Michael avait déjà porté le maillot de l'Autriche.
Son frère Christoph a représenté l'Autriche en junior et son cousin Stephan Herzog chez les juniors et les seniors.
Double champion d'Autriche junior avec le Villacher SV en 2011 et 2012.
Il a fait ses débuts en équipe nationale le 10 février 2017 contre la Norvège (2-1).
Gardien de style papillon qui passe beaucoup de temps à genoux. Rapide et agile.
Il dispute des compétitions de tennis l'été avec le TC Fresach en compagnie d'autres hockeyeurs autrichiens (Andreas Kristler et la famille Raffl/Rauchenwald).
Il a manqué toute la saison 2020/21 après une opération de la hanche.
