Born to an Italian father and he is the cousin of Hall of Famer Dino Ciccarelli.
Battled numerous injuries throughout his playing career, including knee and back injuries.
Nicknamed ”Wild Thing”, “The Planet” and ”Alley Cat”. Outspoken and sometimes controversial individual.
Had a rocket of a shot and held the NHL-record for the hardest shot at the NHL skills competition for 16 years with a 105,2 mph shot.
Announced his retirement on September 1,1998. Attempted a comeback during the 2001/2002 season, but it ended in training camp.
Stayed in ice hockey, involved research and development of the game.

Retraité le 1er septembre 1998, il tenta un retour durant la saison 2001/2002, mais s'arrêta au camp d'entraînement.
