Very smooth player with soft hands. Strong playmaker with good on-ice vision. As a rookie for Jokerit Helsinki in the SM-liiga he played sensationally well, forming a dangerous second line together with Risto Kerminen and Arto Sirviö. He eventually managed to win one SM-liiga title with Jokerit in 1992.
Scored 516 points in 501 career games. Represented Finland 59 times (18+32). Retired in 1994 and became a hockey analyst and commentator on Finnish "Hockey Night".
Inducted into the Finnish Hockey Hall of Fame.

Joueur élégant aux mains habiles, passeur émérite. Fit sensation quand il émergea des rangs junior du Jokerit pour occuper en équipe première une ligne redoutée avec Risto Kerminen et Arto Sirviö. Dut attendre 1992 pour être champion de SM-liiga avec le Jokerit.
516 points en 501 matches, 59 sélections nationales et 50 points (18+32). Prit sa retraite en 1994. On peut encore l'entendre dans son rôle de consultant pour l'émission sportive finlandaise "Hockey Night".
Honoré parmi les Lions du hockey finlandais (Jääkiekkoleijonat, n°175).
