Kapfenberg player-coach Aleksandr Yakushev made the 15-year and 9-month-old local boy debut directly on the first line. He was the youngest player in the league that year and scored in his first game. Surrounded by two Soviet players (Yakushev himself and Kostylyov) he scored 5 goals in his 6 first games.
Three-time Austrian champion with Klagenfurt (1986, 1987) and Innsbruck (1989).
He ended his 11-year-long international career at 29 to spend more time with his family, but played eleven more years of ice hockey.
132 games with Austrian national team, 107 points (51+56).
790 points (293+497) in 723 elite league games during 20 seasons. Also played five years in second division.
Got his coaching diploma in September 2006 before spending his last season on the ice as Kapfenberg player-coach.
He had the longest career (more than 1000 games altogether) in Austrian hockey at the time of his retirement.
From 2010 to 2017 he coached women team Neuberg Highlanders, where his daughter Julia Willenshofer played.

L'entraîneur-joueur de Kapfenberg, le légendaire Aleksandr Yakushev, a fait débuter Kerth à 15 ans et 9 mois en équipe première de son club formateur. Alors le benjamin de la ligue, il marqua dès la première journée de la saison et, aux côtés de deux joueurs soviétiques (Yakushev lui-même et Kostylyov), inscrivit 5 buts à ses 6 premiers matches.
Trois fois champion d'Autriche avec Klagenfurt (1986, 1987) puis Innsbruck (1989).
Après onze ans en équipe nationale, il a pris sa retraite internationale à 29 ans pour passer plus de temps avec sa famille, mais a joué onze ans de plus en club.
132 sélections en équipe d'Autriche, 107 points (51+56).
790 points (293+497) en 723 parties d'élite autrichienne en 20 saisons. Il a aussi joué cinq années en deuxième division.
Il a obtenu son diplôme d'entraîneur (licence A) en septembre 2006 au début de sa dernière saison sur la glace, comme entraîneur-joueur de Kapfenberg.
Au moment de sa retraite il avait la plus longue carrière (plus de 1000 matches au total) de l'histoire du hockey autrichien.
De 2010 à 2017 il a entraîné l'équipe féminine des Neuberg Highlanders, où jouait sa fille, Julia Willenshofer.
