Son of italian parents. Bowlegged, speedy, smooth and effortless skater for a defenseman.
Offensive-minded blueliner who was a good puckhandler and liked to transport the puck.
Often used on the powerplay where his booming shot and fine passing skills came to use.
Got to play in the 1982 NHL All-Star game.
He was used as a left wing at times as an injury replacement.
Worth noting is that he assisted on Steve Yzerman's first NHL goal on October 5, 1983.
Moved to Italy and established himself as a top defenseman in the league.
In total he suited up for 110 games for Italy, scoring 64 points (19+45).
He was selected as a first team All-Star at the 1986, 1989 and 1991 Pool B World Championships.
In 1989 he was also selected as the best defenseman at the Pool B World Championships.
Retired in 1994. Became a hockey coach in Italy and Germany.

Tourné vers l'offensif à la ligne bleue, bon dans le maniement, il appréciait conduire le puck.
Souvent utilisé en power play où son lancer efficace et ses aptitudes à la passe étaient bien utiles.
Il prit part au All-Star game NHL en 1982.
Il y fut utilisé comme ailier gauche pour un remplacement.
Il fut crédité d'une passe lors du tout premier but de Steve Yzerman en NHL le 5 octobre 1983.
Il partit en Italie où il devint un défenseur étoile du championnat.
110 sélections en équipe d'Italie, 64 points (19+45).
Désigné dans l'équipe étoile des Mondiaux B en 1986, 1989 et 1991.
En 1989 il fut également désigné meilleur défenseur du tournoi.
Retraité en 1994. Il devint entraîneur de hockey en Italie et en Allemagne.
172 points (41+131) en 371 parties de saison régulière dans la NHL.
