Began playing ice hockey at the age of four.
Physically imposing blueliner and a good skater.
Excellent at reading plays and positionally strong. Decent playmaker.
Not physical and aggressive enough given his size.
Was one of the best defensemen in the KHL and decided to try his luck in the NHL.
Signed an NHL contract as a 32 year old with Philadelphia Flyers.
Won two Gagarin Cups and was a five time KHL All-Star.

Il a remporté deux coupes Gagarine et participa à cinq All Star Games de KHL.
