Probably the best Swedish forward in the 1950s and 60s together with Tumba Johansson.
Pretty much complete. He could skate, had tremendous technique, hard shot, leadership qualities and fine passes.
Had a thousand moves and was really unpredictable on breakaways.
The only drawback might have been that he sometimes held on to the puck too long and looked down, making him vulnerable to hits.
Nilsson was invited by the Boston Bruins once to come over and attend their training camp, he declined though.
Represented Sweden 205 times. Voted as the best forward at the 1960 Olympics. All-Star at the 1962 World Championships.
During his playing days he worked in a warehouse, later worked for JOFA in the 1960s.
Retired in 1970. He served as a wholesaler for bulk candy for more than 30-years.

Très complet, il avait un bon patinage, une technique formidable, un tir puissant, des qualités de meneur et des passes correctes.
Il disposait d'un millier de gestes et était vraiment imprévisible quand il était échappé seul face au gardien.
Son seul point faible était peut-être qu'il gardait le palet longtemps et baissait le regard, ce qui le rendait vulnérable aux charges.
Nilsson a été invité une fois par les Bruins de Boston à leur camp d'entraînement mais a décliné.
205 sélections en équipe de Suède. Meilleur attaquant des Jeux olympiques 1960. Élu dans l'équipe-type des Mondiaux 1962.
Pendant sa carrière de joueur il travaillait dans un entrepôt, puis pour l'équipementier de hockey JOFA dans les années 1960.
Après sa retraite en 1970, il a vendu des bonbons comme grossiste pendant 30 ans.
