Born in Djura, south of Leksand, hence his nickname. He began playing hockey at the local rink and made his senior debut with IFK Djura in the Swedish 5th division, before switching to Leksand in 1966.
Hard-working player who didn’t mind doing a lot of dirty work.
Good along the boards and well liked by his coaches for his willingness to take care of the defensive duties.
Not the fastest skater around, but worked hard to improve in that area.
"Djura" represented Sweden 50 times and made his debut for Sweden on December 11, 1976 against Czechoslovakia (3-1) in Prague, on a line together with future NHL’ers Bengt Lundholm and Rolf Edberg.
"Djura" was a two-time Swedish junior champion, and three-time senior champion.
Played three years in Norway for Sarpsborg (1981-84), winning a title in 1984.
Retired in 1986 after having played two years in the Swedish division 3 for Björbo IF.
Used to work as a carpenter while he was an active player.

Né à Djura, au sud de Leksand, d'où son surnom. Il commença sur la patinoire locale, et débuta en senior pour l'IFK Djura en 5e division suédoise, avant de partir à Leksand en 1966.
Gros travailleur, pas le dernier pour faire le sale boulot.
Bon le long des bandes et apprécié des entraîneurs pour son abnégation dans les tâches défensives.
Pas le plus rapide, mais il a travaillé pour s'améliorer dans le domaine.
50 sélections avec la Suède. "Djura" y débuta en sélection le 11 décembre 1976 contre la Tchécoslovaquie (3-1) à Prague, sur la même ligne que les futurs joueurs NHL Bengt Lundholm et Rolf Edberg.
"Djura" a remporté deux titres de champion junior de Suède, et trois titres senior.
Il a joué trois ans en Norvège pour Sarpsborg (1981-84), et y remporta le titre en 1984.
Retraité en 1986 après avoir disputé ses deux dernières saisons en division 3 suédoise pour le Björbo IF.
Il travaillait comme charpentier pendant sa carrière de hockeyeur.
