Forward with good offensive skills, although he was never much of a scorer on the German national team. Quick release of his shot and a smooth playmaker. Good on powerplays. Feared one-timer from the circle.
Kind of a roller-coaster career. Came to prominence at 18 when he played in World Championships Pool B for Germany while still a third-tier player.
DEL final was played after the tournament : he was hired by Munich and became German champion one week later. Munich and Kassel fought to sign him... and he went to Schwenningen.
Quickly grew tired with the life of a pro-hockey player. Put on weight and took a three-year break from elite hockey between 2005 and 2008.
Thought to be lost for the sport until he made a thunderbolt comeback with Ingolstadt (2014 league champion) and the German team, even being elected "DEL player of the year" in 2010.
Retired from DEL in 2019 and came back to his home team Deggendorf as a player and youth hockey main coach.

Attaquant offensif au registre complet, bien qu'il n'ait jamais été très prolifique avec l'équipe nationale. Lance vite et bien, passes précises, utile en supériorité numérique. Sa reprise directe du cercle est redoutable.
Sa carrière a connu de nombreux hauts et bas car il a longtemps privilégié la facilité. Diamant brut qui éclate à 18 ans en intégrant l'équipe d'Allemagne alors qu'il ne joue qu'au troisième niveau allemand avec le Deggendorfer SC.
Après le Mondial B, la finale de DEL reste à jouer, il est recruté comme pigiste par Munich et devient champion d'Allemagne la semaine suivante. Munich et Kassel se battent pour s'attacher ses services... et il signe à Schwenningen.
Il fait inscrire dans ses contrats de DEL une clause l'autorisant à participer aux Mondiaux de roller-hockey.
Il se blesse au cartilage du genou en pratiquant le hockey inline. Tous les orthopédistes évoquent des dommages irréparables et lui recommandent d'arrêter sa carrière professionnelle.
Ne prenant guère soin de son coeur, il prend du poids (jusqu'à 120 kg) et retourne chez lui à Deggendorf, prenant une année sabbatique en 2005-2006 avant de rejouer deux ans en amateur.
On le pensait fini pour le hockey quand il revient au haut niveau aussi brusquement qu'il l'avait quitté. Élu "joueur de DEL" en 2010 et sacré champion de DEL 2014 avec Ingolstadt.
Il a tiré sa révérence de la DEL en 2019 pour rentrer dans son club formateur Deggendorf comme joueur et entraîneur principal du hockey mineur.
