Swedish junior player of the year in 1983. Highest point producing defenseman in the Swedish Elite League 1988/89.
Signed a contract with NY Rangers after the 1992 Olympics. NY Rangers had previously drafted him 1983. Scored 668 (213+455) career points in 995 games.
Won league titles in Sweden, Germany, Italy and Switzerland. Retired in 2005, but made a two game comeback in 2008/09.
Was a resilient player who avoided knee and shoulder injuries. His only serious injury was getting hit by a stick to his eye in 1997, leaving him with a 10% vision on one of his eyes. Became a hockey manager and coach after his playing career was over.

Sacré junior de l'année en Suède en 1983. Plus haut pointeur parmi les défenseurs d'Elitserien en 1988/89.
Rejoint l'organisation des New York Rangers en 1992, après les Jeux olympiques d'Albertville. Les Rangers l'avaient déjà drafté en 1983.
Champion national dans quatre pays au total (Suède, Allemagne, Italie, Suisse). Prit sa retraite en 2005 avant de faire un retour très bref (deux matches) en 2009. A inscrit 668 points (213+455) en 995 matches.
Joueur très résistant physiquement, quasiment jamais blessé aux points sensibles du hockeyeur (épaules, genou). Un de ses yeux a cependant payé pour la postérité : un coup de crosse reçu en 1997 a laissé Peter Andersson presque borgne (10% de vision à l'oeil touché). Devenu entraîneur après sa longue carrière de joueur.
