Very solidly built and had good physical tools, but did not play very physical.
Known for his hard shot and is credited with being the first player in Austria to use the slapshot. Related to Hermann Knoll who also played for the Austrian national team.
Both he and Knoll went to Canada and played one year in Québec.
Represented Austria 122 times (59+37=96). Nicknamed "Nazl" and "Dolfi".

Joueur vraiment costaud et avec de grandes facultés physiques, mais dont le jeu n'était pas très physique.
Il était connu pour son lancer puissant et reconnu comme le premier joueur en Autriche à avoir utilisé le slapshot. Il était lié à Hermann Knoll qui a également joué pour la sélection nationale autrichienne.
Knoll et lui sont allés au Canada et ont joué un an au Québec.
