Big defensive defenseman who always worked hard. A good penalty killer.
A true team player who never got any recognition for his work. Appreciated by his coaches.
Illness (mononucleosis) and several injuries hampered the end of his career.
German champion 2001 with Mannheim. Played exactly 100 games with German national team.
Announced his retirement on May 27, 2014. He joined the German federation during three years.
Then he missed the feeling of the game and became coach and youth hockey director for his home team Augsburg.
In 2019 he announced his retirement from any ice hockey job.

Gros défenseur défensif qui a toujours travaillé dur. Discret, commettant peu d'erreurs.
Un vrai joueur d'équipe rarement mis en lumière, mais apprécié par ses entraîneurs. Utile en infériorité numérique.
Une maladie (mononucléose) et plusieurs blessures ont entravé la fin de sa carrière.
Champion allemand 2001 avec Mannheim. Pile 100 sélections en équipe d'Allemagne.
Il a annoncé sa retraite le 27 mai 2014. Il a rejoint la fédération allemande (DEB) et reçu une formation en commercialisation du sport.
Après trois ans la proximité de la glace lui manquait et il est devenu entraîneur et directeur du hockey mineur pour son club formateur Augsbourg.
En 2019 il a annoncé son retrait complet du monde du hockey sur glace.
